Handguns Stream “Queens”

Handguns have partnered with our friends at Rocksound to premiere a new song titled “Queens.”

The latest track to surface off Handguns‘ upcoming third album, Life Lessons, “Queens” channels the youthful drive to chase whatever dreams come your way against a wall of pop punk ripe with a late-90s influence. Vocalist Taylor Eby says Life Lessons is “a record about self-realisation, rebuilding, letting go of the past and focusing on what’s in front of you. Every song is an experience we have been through, and through those experiences we were able to gain something. We feel that this is the best representation of ourselves musically and lyrically. A lot of time, effort, heard and soul went into this record and we think that truly shines through on Life Lessons.”

You can stream “Queens” at the end of this post.

Speaking to Rocksound about the inspiration for “Queens,” Handguns member Brandon Pagano reflected on his early life in the America’s wildest city. “‘Queens’ is a song about growing up around people who don’t have the same mindset as you. I grew up in New York City until I was thirteen then my family relocated to suburban upstate New York. I struggled growing up there because all of my friends had this timid outlook on life. Many of them were afraid to take risks and stand up for themselves. My parents raised me to fight for everything that I considered worth fighting for.”

Life Lessons is scheduled for release on July 7. Click here for more information.
