The promotional run towards the August 13 release of Let’s Be Cops continued this afternoon with the release of a new red band trailer.

By now, it’s pretty likely you have at least heard of Let’s Be Cops. The film follows two friends who decide to dress up as cops for a party only to discover that – as you have no doubt guessed by now – people think they are actually officers of the law. That idea is too tempting for either to resist, and soon the friends find themselves leveraging their newfound recognition for all its worth. The latest trailer offers a little more back story on each lead, as well as the first real taste of Andy Garcia’s turn as the film’s villain. You can view the footage below:

I was sold on Let’s Be Cops from the premise and cast alone, but I knew for certain I would be buying a ticket for opening day when the initial trailer debuted online. This trailer borders on showing too much footage for my taste, but it’s fun throughout and seems to keep much of the central story at bay. That said, if another trailer is released I think it would be wise to avoid it altogether unless you want to witness several major spoilers.
