By now, we shouldn’t be suprised when nu-folk’s wonderkid, Sufjan Stevens, releases something totally off the radar and weird. So for him to release a polygon-collage transforming into trippy, colorful tigers that replace him to lip-sync the chanting to his older track, “Year of the Tiger,” which is on the freshly-pressed-to-vinyl, Enjoy Your Rabbit, we can’t really look twice.
The song itself is not much from Sufjan lyrically, but if you’re familiar with this record, it’s quite a trip musically. Very bi-polar, fun and colorful. As is this video. In the more intense parts, we see what appears to be the reproductive cycle taking place into forming a human being. And in the calmer parts, we get the fun tigers. So whether or not you’re on LSD, this video is fun.
Check out the video below, and for all you vinyl nerds, you can grab Enjoy Your Rabbit now via Asthmatic Kitty.
