Nick Jonas Kicks Off Solo Career By Premiering “Chains”

There aren’t too many musicians who start off in an ultra-famous gimmicky band then successfully transition to a solo career. Justin Timberlake is a prime example of a musician who was able to shake off his past and move forward to be a relevant pop star. The latest artist who hopes to make a similar transformation is the youngest Jonas brother, Nick Jonas. The brotherly band officially broke up last year, and he has taken the opportunity to sign to a label as a solo artist as well as rebrand himself. He plans on releasing his debut solo album in the near future.

To help jump-start his new career, he has teamed up with Complex to premiere his first solo single. The song is titled “Chains,” and you can stream it below.

Surprisingly enough, I actually enjoyed the song. “Chains” has a mainstream R&B sound to it that can easily compete with other popular radio singles out right now. I would definitely recommend giving it a listen.
