Nicki Minaj has been riding the viral attention given to “Anaconda” for the better part of a month, and today she continues to milk her latest single for all its worth the debut of the track’s official lyric video.

If you know anything about Nicki Minaj it’s likely the fact she does any and everything in her power to stand out from other rappers currently making waves in urban music. For the “Anaconda” lyric video, these efforts include using 8-bit visuals, the return of the talking “Super Bass” head, a mention of Ken dolls, and one of the finest references to Mystery Science Theater 3000 ever brought into the world of hip-hop. I have yet to figure out how Sir Mix-A-Lot will leverage the success of “Anaconda” to further his own career, but you know a comeback of some sort is bound to be in the works. If nothing else, I am confident he will make at least an appearance or two alongside Minaj as she begins to share “Anaconda” with fans in festival and concert settings.

Minaj is due to have a new album out by the end of the year, but at the point there are no signs of a release date.
