UTG TV: Rockstar Mayhem Fest 2014 With Islander

Islander (D. SKANK PHOTOGRAPHY)

Serving as one of the truly up-and-coming acts on the Rockstar Mayhem Festival 2014, Islander seemingly had a lot to prove. That didn’t manage to have an effect on the guys keeping it cool, though. Believe it or not, by the time UTG TV spoke to them in Scranton, they’d already become friends with the guys in Korn and had Suicide Silence watching their set from backstage.

During our interview, we felt the need to state the obvious and address how different Islander seemed from the rest of the lineup. The guys chuckled at the notion, agreeing but not being phased by it. The band has a unique style which they are comfortable with and confident in. They don’t feel the need to classify themselves into a particular genre.

Check below to get watch the band discuss their latest single, “Coconut Dracula,” lifting weights with Fieldy from Korn, and how metalheads started showing Islander some love.
