Slipknot Show Off New Masks With “The Devil In I” Music Video

The highly anticipated return of Slipknot has been met with mixed reviews from critics and fans alike thus far, but after the clip you are about to see I think we will all agree there is one thing about this band that never disappoints.

This morning, Slipknot shared the official music video for their recent single “The Devil In I.” The clip, which supports the first song released in support of the band’s forthcoming studio album, features the band performing in what looks to be a rundown mental hospital while strange and creepy things happen around them. More importantly, the video also reveals the group’s new masks, which fans can likely expect to see in person if they attend Slipknot’s upcoming tour with Korn. Some updates are more minor than others, but I will tell you right now that Corey Taylor‘s latest disguise might leave you with nightmares. You can view the footage below:

Holy shit, am I right? Not only are the masks incredibly well made, but the shot of Mick Thompson ripping off his own face will likely stay with me for days. Let’s go ahead and take one more look at Corey Taylor’s new mask:

“The Devil In I” is still a relatively weak song in my opinion, but this video proves that Slipknot still know how to market to their core audience, and that alone is enough to give me hope that the new record will be something worth purchasing. .5: The Gray Chapter hits stores October 21.
