Watch The Video for “Howl” And Fall In Love With Have Mercy All Over Again

Have Mercy are gearing up to release their Hopeless Records debut, and early this morning a new album cut titled “Howl” found its way online. Even better – the song was released alongside its official video.

I don’t know about you, but when I think about Have Mercy my mind immediately goes to the moody and emotional “Let’s Talk About Your Hair.” Their latest, “Howl,” maintains the strong lyricism of that track and pairs it with a driving rock sound that is far more upbeat than fans may be expecting. There are some who have compared the group’s writing style to that of The Spill Canvas in their prime, and this definitely brings One Fell Swoop to mind, in addition to several other mid-2000s alt/punk outfits.

Still, in the midst of what seems to be a wide variety of influences, Have Mercy find a way to make the whole affair their own in an incredibly catchy and infectious way. You can view the video for “Howl” below:

Have Mercy will release their new album, A Place Of Our Own, on October 27 via Hopeless Records.
