Dustin Kensrue (Thrice) Is In The Studio Recording New Solo Album

Thrice frontman Dustin Kensrue has been slowly but surely making his way back into music, especially with his solo work. The last release we saw from Kensrue was 2013’s The Water & the Blood which was highly successful after the breakup of Thrice.

Today, Kensrue announced that he is back at work in the studio, currently recording and producing on his own terms, the follow-up to last year’s effort. A release date has not been determined yet but the album will be distributed through Staple Records/Vagrant Records. Check out what Kensrue had to say about the songs that will be featured on the release:

“Recording right now is for me the end of a long distilling process. I always have bits and pieces of songs that are bouncing around in my head. I usually record them and listen back later, and most of the time I can’t remember why I even bothered to record them in the first place. But then there are the tunes that stick – the ones I find running over and over through my head, demanding to be finished. Begging for a home. The most persistent of these tunes from the past 8 years are what I’m busy recording right now, and there’s nothing I’d rather be doing.”

Kensrue will be featured on the upcoming acoustic tour run of ‘Where’s The Band‘ in mid-December with other notable acts. Be sure to stay close with UTG on more updates with Kensrue’s upcoming album.
