New ‘Seventh Son’ Trailer Teases Long Delayed Film’s Potential Release

Seventh Son, which used to be known as The Last Apprentice, was originally talked about on movie news sites in 2010. UTG did not even cover movies at the time, but I certainly remember reading about the flick on /Film and other entertainment outlets. The film was completed in 2012 and set for release later that year, but then it was delayed until 2013. Then late 2013. Then early 2014.

It’s now November 2014 and the world has still yet to see Seventh Son in full. The film is currently slated for an early 2015 release, but given the number of failed marketing efforts in the past it would not surprise us if the film was postponed again before that time comes. Regardless, the movie itself looks genuinely entertaining, featuring a tale of fantasy chock full of monsters and CGI. You can view the latest trailer, which the studio humorously labeled ‘Trailer 1,’ below:

The official synopsis reads:

In a time of enchantments when legends and magic collide, the sole remaining warrior of a mystical order (Oscar® winner Jeff Bridges) travels to find a prophesized hero born with incredible powers, the last Seventh Son (Ben Barnes). Torn from his quiet life as a farmhand, the unlikely young hero embarks on a daring adventure with his battle-hardened mentor to vanquish a dark queen (Julianne Moore) and the army of supernatural assassins she has dispatched against their kingdom.

Seventh Son MIGHT arrive in theaters on February 6, 2015. Stay tuned.
