Own A Piece Of ‘The Babadook’ (If You Dare)

Have you seen The Babadook yet? I assume you have if you’re reading this post, but if not – do whatever you can to welcome its terror into your life as soon as humanly possible. Written and directed by Jennifer Kent, The Babaook may be the best horror film of 2014, and with a little help from loyal genre fans those who enjoy the flick can now own a cool piece of memorabilia.

Without going too into detail about the scares that await in The Babadook, everything essentially begins with a mysterious pop-up book that arrives on the doorstep of an unsuspecting widow on an otherwise normal day. That book contains the story of Mr. Babadook, and now the creators of the film have launched a crowdfunding effort to bring that book into the home of every horrorhound with a penchant for coffee table collectibles. The Bababook book cost $60 and is currently available for pre-order here. The only catch is that the sales must surpass 2,000 units before the book will be made. At the time of this post 1,091 copies had been ordered.

Here’s a quick look at what is inside the book:

The Babadook received its US theatrical premiere this weekend, and will soon be rolling out to additional cities around the country. You can also order the film on iTunes and other online video stores. Our review will be live soon.

I considered getting it but I didn’t really like the movie enough to warrant spending that much on its merchandise. It is definitely cool though.
