Lifetime TV Shares First Trailer For Whitney Houston Biopic

Oh, Lifetime. You keep making bad movies and people keep tuning in. Your continued success is proof people don’t want quality entertainment as much as they want something to distract them from their own mundane lives, and your latest original film looks like a disaster waiting to happen.

Just a month after catching all sorts of shade for their universally panned film about the life and death of Aaliyah, Lifetime Television has released the first trailer for Whitney, an upcoming biopic about the late great Whitney Houston. The film is scheduled for release in early 2015, and from the looks of it the flick may not be anything to write home about. You can view the footage, which highlights life at home and on the road, on Buzzfeed.

Whitney stars Yaya DaCosta (The Butler) in the title role and was directed by Angela Bassett. The film will have its world premiere on January 17, 2015.
