D’Angelo Streams “Sugah Daddy,” New Album ‘Black Messiah’ Drops Tonight

Today is the second best day of the year, and that’s only because tomorrow will be ten times better. D’Angelo is officially back. The rumors were true, though they took a decade to reach the public, and we have new music to share with you as proof.

“Sugah Daddy” is a brassy new track that found its way online early Sunday morning, December 14. The track is the first to surface off Black Messiah, which D’Angelo is planning to release tonight at midnight. The twelve track release will be the first new material to surface from the “How Does It Feel” crooner since Voodoo proved soul music was alive and well in January 2000. You can stream “Sugah Daddy” below:

We haven’t heard Black Messiah in full, but “Sugah Daddy” gives me hope that all my wildest dreams regarding the return of D’Angelo will be fulfilled. Look for a full review in the days to come. Until then, follow UTG on Twitter for updates.
