Good Old War Stream “Broken Record” From Upcoming Album

For our second full-single taste of their forthcoming album, Philadelphia’s Good Old War are streaming “Broken Record” over at EW today. Following the brimming and catchy “Tell Me What You Want From Me,” the now-duo that make up GOW have another surefire love for fans of the band.

PledgeMusic backers for the album’s campaign were treated to a full stream of the new song yesterday, where we listened to it several times throughout the day. With the stream, the band shared, “We took a serious subject matter and set it to a really upbeat musical backdrop so it feels like you’re celebrating your release from the hard times. We hope you like it!”

We like it just fine; it’s a three-minute slice of folk-pop goodness, with all the elements we’ve grown to love of the band’s works over the years. It’s catchy, melodic and filled with heart. It’s ostensibly simple but not unimaginative. Stream it below and contribute to the PledgeMusic campaign before it’s too late. They’ll be closing it sometime this week. Their new album, Broken Into Better Shape, is due out June 23 via Nettwerk.
