The Mire Announce Breakup, Stream Final EP

The Mire, a wildly underrated post-metal band from the U.K., have announced their breakup with the release of their final EP, a five-track effort titled Vice Regalia.

On Facebook, the band abruptly revealed its end: “Here is ‘Vice Regalia,’ our final release. Thank you all so much for your interest and support over the last 8 years. It’s been a blast. RIP The Mire, 2009 – 2015.” The band had previously noted that a new EP would be available in December with no mention of a breakup.

The new effort is available to stream below and download with a ‘name your price’ option through Bandcamp. We highly suggest you listen through the EP and the band’s back catalog, namely 2014’s Glass Cathedrals, an album I’ve previously referred to as “heavy, dense and atmospheric […] a massive wall of sound filled with soaring, distorted guitar work, intense vocals and pummeling percussion.”
