It’s been almost two years since the 10-year anniversary tour of Mmhmm and nearly three years since we’ve heard fresh tunes from Relient K. In November, the band announced the news of the follow-up to 2013’s Collapsible Lung, which is to be titled Air For Free.
Well, now we have the first track presumed to be taken from their forthcoming LP, and it’s called “Look On Up.” The song comes in very reserved, starts out mainly acoustic, and picks up with some full-band action about half way through. It actually turns into a heavy hitter that pushes the feels with its lyrics and overwhelming musical accompaniment. If this is any testament to how the new album will sound, it should be an interesting move, as there are definitely remnants of Mmhmm, laced with the progress the band has made in its sound over the years.
The band has shared “Look On Up” for our listening pleasure through various platforms, but check it out below.

This song is amazingly good. After an uncertain few year, this seems to be a return to form. Cant wait for the album.
