Blink-182 release lyric video for “Bored To Death” from upcoming album ‘California’

Following an unceremonious leak of the new track earlier today, Blink-182 have officially premiered their new single “Bored To Death” on KROQ. Listen to the song, the band’s first without founding member Tom DeLonge, below.

The song comes from the new album titled California, due out July 1 (pre-orders are ongoing). The record features Alkaline Trio‘s Matt Skiba on guitars and vocals, replacing Tom DeLonge after 2015’s heavily-publicized departure. However, “Bored To Death” is most certainly a Hoppus-heavy song. Leading in with a compressed, “Feeling This”-esque drum fill and a guitar tone reminiscent of “Adam’s Song,” the band kicks into one hell of a pre-chorus and the catchiest chorus they’ve written in years. If the rest of the record follows suit, it looks like we can expect a full return to the pop-punk, endless summer, feel-good Blink of the mid-2000s.

Listen to the new song and check out the artwork for California below. Let us know what you think of “Bored To Death” in the comments section.
