Night Verses announce ‘Into The Vanishing Light,’ stream “A Dialogue In Cataplexy”

It’s almost been a solid three years since Night Verses‘ mammoth debut Lift Your Existence was released, and now we finally have word of their highly-anticipated follow-up, titled Into The Vanishing Light. The new record—produced by the legendary Ross Robinson (At The Drive-In, The Cure)—will be released on July 8 via Graphic Nature Records, an imprint on Equal Vision founded by producer Will Putney (Northlane, Stray From The Path, etc.).

The joy doesn’t stop there, though! Along with the announcement, the band has released the first single on the album, the atmospheric, heavy-hitting “A Dialogue In Cataplexy,” as well as a U.S./Canadian Summer tour announcement with Letlive, Seahaven, and Silver Snakes.

From the early days as Archives—where a fresh-out-of Tides of Man Tilian Pearson recorded a killer demo with them—to an EP and then a connecting full-length, Night Verses have continued to evolve and take the scene by storm. With this new song, we hear even more of a progression with Tool-esque bass arpeggios, blistering tremolo guitar picking, drummer Aric Improta’s untouchable fills, and singer Douglas Robinson’s ease with transitioning from hard shouts to emotional, shrouded melodies.

Robinson had this to say on the process of recording and naming this new outing:

“A lot of the inspiration for the title, Into The Vanishing Light, came from pulling so many new and untapped emotions out of places that we never knew existed within ourselves. Ross brought more to the table than I could have ever really imagined. He taught us how to elevate ourselves from what we were, while still being exactly who we are. He didn’t make us anything we didn’t want to be. He brought out what he saw in us and heightened it all as we learned even more about ourselves on our own. I personally felt so much more mentally aware and open with everything I was doing during the making of this record. That – mixed with us just simply taking a chance on going against the grain of modern approaches to recordings and stepping out of our comfort zones – was a way for us (separately and as a whole) to surrender our old ways and give everything we had to the new process.”
