“I Was Born” is the new track from blipped-out duo High Places, who have moved from Brooklyn to Los Angeles since the release of their self-titled LP last year. Mary Pearson and Rob Barber made a black-and-white video for the track, too, and you can watch it below or over at Pitchfork.tv.
According to a press release, this song marks “the first time the bassoon (Pearson’s principal instrument) has been featured on a High Places recording.” I can already sense that 2010 is going to be very bassoon-heavy.
“I Was Born” is out today as a digital single. It will be released on an upcoming Thrill Jockey 12″ featuring a second, yet-to-be-heard single along with a couple remixes. The next High Places album is set to come out this spring, with a tour to follow.
