You Say Party! We Say Die! drummer Devon Clifford passed away early Sunday morning after collapsing onstage during a show Friday night in Vancouver. He was 30.

Vocalist Becky Ninkovic pleaded for audience members to call 911 after Clifford passed out, and paramedics rushed him to a local hospital. Clifford is reported to have suffered a brain hemorrhage and endured emergency neurosurgery early Saturday morning. He was on life support for nearly a day. The show was a hometown gig for the band who are from the Vancouver suburb of Abbottsford. They were planning to embark on a European tour next week.

The band’s label, Paper Bag Records, released this statement: “It is with absolute sadness to report that our dear friend Devon Clifford passed away just hours ago in a Vancouver hospital surrounded by his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him. I request that we respect the family’s privacy during this incredibly difficult time.”
