Kevin Smith is still unveiling all the release plans for his new horror film Red State, but we can now confirm a Video On Demand release on September 1 and a DVD/Blu-ray release for October 18. Extra features include: “The Making of Red State” documentary, Audio commentary with Kevin Smith, Sundance speech with introduction by Kevin Smith, Sundance ending, Deleted scenes with introduction by Kevin Smith, Poster Gallery with introduction by Kevin Smith.
The October 18 release coincides with the 17th anniversary of Smith’s first film, Clerk. Smith hints (almost daily) that there will be additional theatrical runs of the film, some potentially featuring live Q&A’s with Smith and/or additional cast along the way. We will keep you updated with any developments.
