Spice Girls musical confirmed

Though information about the show itself has been tightly controlled, it’s been confirmed that there is, in fact, a Spice Girls musical in the works.

Among those working on the production and writing of the musical are Absolutely Fabulous star Jennifer Saunders, Mamma Mia! producer Judy Cramer, and well-known British theater director Marianne Elliot.

Emma Bunton, known to fans of the group as Baby Spice, has expressed her excitement for the upcoming production. “I’ve heard a little bit about the story but it’s top secret. We’ve been in touch with the producer and the writer.”

The musical is expected to be shown on London’s West End sometime in 2012.
