Wade MacNeil and Gallows talk about future

After the surprising news of former Alexisonfire guitarist, Wade MacNeil, joining on as Gallows lead vocalist people were quick to judge. It seems the band is not looking to simply replace Frank Carter but build on the solid following they have right now. Kerrang gathered statements from both the band and Wade as they give us the cold hard facts on the matter. UTG cannot wait until The AP Tour rolls into our town so we can witness this magic happen first-hand.

Gallows stated:

We had a few people in mind, but we didn’t want to get somebody who was really similar to Frank. That was one of things we were wary of. At the end of the day, Frank was a great part of what we are and we didn’t want a copyist who couldn’t do the role justice. We played with Wade last year and he was amazing. We’ve always got on well with him and he’s fucking nuts and probably one of the most punk guys I know. If anyone has any doubts about Wade, we’re just going to let the music do the talking.

MacNeil added on:

I told the band I wasn’t going to join if they wanted me to be Frank’s replacement. I’m not interested in replacing anybody. I want us to be even more brutal. It’s not something I’m taking lightly. I want to build on the legacy this band has by throwing myself fully into it. I want to make some music that’s just fucking vicious sounding.
