Pukkelpop sets up fund to help victims of storm

On August 18, five people were killed when a stage collapsed at the Pukkelpop Festival in Belgium. In order to help the victim of the tragedy, the festival has set up an “independent and autonomous charity.” All donations to the fund will go directly to those affected by the collapse.

An organizer of the charity issued this statement:

Starting today, you can transfer your donation to the bank account of the ‘Steunfonds Slachtoffers Pukkelpopstorm’ (Support Fund for the Victims of the Pukkelpop Storm). Everyone taking part in the establishment and operation of the Fund – now and in the future – is doing so from a sense of social engagement on an unpaid volunteer basis.

More details about the charity can be found on the festival’s website.
