TMZ is reporting that legendary hip hop icon Heavy D has passed away at the age of 44.
According to reports, Heavy D (real name Dwight Arrington Myers) was rushed to an LA area hospital around noon today and died a short time thereafter.
Cops are investigating the death, but as of right now they do no suspect foul play.
Many of our readers may not be familiar with Heavy D as he hasn’t been as present in recent years, but those that remember the late 80s and early 90s are well aware of his gifts to the world of music. You can view a clip of one great song after the jump.
