REST IN PEACE: Eyes Have Seen The Glory

Pennsylvania hardcore kings Eyes Have Seen The Glory have announced they will be disbanding following a final performance in early February.

Eyes Have Seen The Glory broke the news to fans via their official Facebook. In a status updated posted January 4, the band wrote:

As many of you may have noticed, we, Eyes Have Seen the Glory, have not been around much over these past couple months. The reason for this absence, as many of you may have guessed, is that we have decided as a whole to call it quits. We have thought and debated on doing this for a while now, but have finally realized it was time. We are all moving on in our lives and it’s very hard to keep a full-time band going while maintaining school, work, and relationships. We wanted to make sure that we left the music scene on good terms and at what we thought was our “peak”. Eyes Have Seen the Glory started as a couple of friends playing cover songs together in our drummer’s living room, and from there we formed ‘Murder at the Matinee’. It was a first for all of us. Playing in a band and making our own music was something we were all new to. We recorded our first album ‘What Not to do at a Stoplight’ shortly after that. We had our first t-shirt design printed and went on to play countless shows together. Later on down the road we decided it was time for a change. We came up with the new name ‘Eyes Have Seen The Glory’ and a new genre as well. From there on we recorded two more albums, ‘The Choices We Make’ and ‘Aftertaste’, and played many more shows together. For the past four years we pushed ourselves as hard as we could to make it to where we are today. We have gone through name and genre changes, as well as several member changes. We have grown from taking our parents cars filled with equipment to owning our own van and trailer. We have matured from playing our first show ever in a garage to playing in places such as Ohio, West Virginia, and New York. Every show we have ever played, from our very first to our very last, were and will be an amazing time. We want to give a special thanks to our family, friends, and fans. We appreciate and thank every single person who has ever bought a CD, shirt, foam finger, or even gave us a tip. Even if you didn’t buy anything, but you came and talked to us at one of our shows, thank you, but we don’t want this to be a sad goodbye. We want to leave on a good note. We are having one last show on Saturday February 11th, so make sure you call off from work now and come hang out with us! We will be having deals on all remaining merch as well as giving out free stuff. We hope to see as many of you there as possible. Once again, thank you.
