Massachusetts-based punk-hardcore band No Trigger released a new song called Checkmate off of their upcoming sophomore album Tycoon, which can be heard after liking their facebook. Checkmate keeps the signature No Trigger fast-paced punk sound, with vocals and guitar work that heavily improve in quality from their previous releases (the album was recorded by Defeater’s guitarist Jay Maas). Fans of old punk-hardcore acts Kid Dynamite and Lifetime will feel right at home here with fast chord changes and scratchy, honest vocals.
Tycoon comes out on February 21, via No Sleep Records, and the record will mark their first full-length since 2006’s Canyoneer. You can pre-order the record on No Sleep Records Store.
