Yellowcard Frontman Goes Through Story, To Sit on Stage At Warped Tour

Florida pop-punk group Yellowcard released a statement recently about how their singer Ryan Key just underwent surgery on his foot. For a lot of bands, this would mean cancelled dates, however Yellowcard proves time and time again they aren’t like a lot of bands within their genre. Keeping completely with their punk ethic, Ryan Key will be sitting on stage singing for the first few weeks of Warped Tour while his foot heals, according to doctor’s orders. I don’t know about you, but I find this incredibely badass and really tells you something about how much Yellowcard love their fans.

You can check out the statement from the band after the break, and don’t be afraid to leave a comment in UTG’s comment section or on our Facebook.

“I have some unfortunate news. It is nothing too serious, but I had to have a medical procedure on the bottom of my right foot which is going to prevent me from putting any weight on it for 2 full weeks. Everything went fine and it will be healed up soon, but it looks like I’ll have to be sitting down on stage for the first couple of shows on the Vans Warped Tour. So I’m going to need everyone out there to step it up and make up for my lack of mobility up there! The first show of the tour is in Salt Lake City. In 2007 I remember seeing police officers climbing a chain link fence to get out of the madness that was happening in the crowd. I expect nothing less this year, even though I’ll be stuck in a chair! I hope you understand. See you soon!”
