Stage Collapses Before Radiohead Concert, One Person Dead (Video)

Summer has yet to officially begin and already a stage collapse has claimed someone’s life.

Radiohead were preparing to take the stage in Downsview Park in Toronto earlier today when the outdoor stage collapsed due to what appears to be high winds. Three people were injured and one was killed.

The CBC is reporting one of the injured was transported to Sunnybrook Hospital in serious condition while the other two were being assessed at the scene.

Radiohead have not commented on the situation specifically, but did post the following message on their official Twitter page:

“Due to unforeseen circumstances tonight’s at downsview park tonight has been cancelled. Fans are advised not to make their way to the venue.”

We did some digging and found a few videos of the collapse beginning to make the rounds online. You can view the clips after the jump.

Today marks the 15-year anniversary of the release of Radiohead’s classic album, OK Computer.

Our thoughts are with those injured and their families. Here’s hoping no more lives are lost.
