Danny Brown is one of the few artists working today that truly fit into the description of an original performer. Everything, from his lyricism to his persona, is unique to him and him alone. The result of this separation from the pack has found Brown a large underground following, but one could argue it may also be what has prevented the young MC from breaking through to mainstream audiences. Whether or not Brown worries about that is anyone’s guess, but one thing we know for sure is that his latest, “Kush Coma,” proves the best is yet to come.
Uploaded to Soundcloud earlier this week, “Kush Coma” is an alternate version of a track that will appear on Brown’s forthcoming album, Old. The album cut will feature A$AP Rocky, but for now fans can enjoy just over three minutes of Danny Brown goodness ahead of the record’s release. Produced by Skywlkr, the track boasts a bass and synth heavy beat that Brown rides with lines that would sound like insanity coming from anyone else. You can you stream the track below.
Old has yet to be given a release date, but a message from Brown on the upload of “Kush Coma” promises the record will be coming soon. Stay tuned for updates.
