August Burns Red Speaks On The Genre Of Metalcore

JB Brubaker of August Burns Red had the chance to sit down with Alternative Press to talk about a number of different things, including their upcoming sixth studio album and the music scene. They are currently five weeks into a six week recording session at Atrium Audio.

While talking about different instruments the band plans on using on the new album (something along the lines of a ‘Mexican fiesta’) JB comments on the state of the current metalcore scene. He goes on to say:

“Metalcore is not an interesting genre at this point. It’s very repetitive and predictable; I want more than breakdowns and pop choruses these days.”
