Maybach Music Group mastermind Rick Ross has spent the few weeks in hot water after complaints he praised rape culture with lyrics from a song released earlier this year. On “U.O.E.N.O.” Ross raps, “Put molly all in her champagne, she ain’t even know it / I took her home and I enjoyed that, she ain’t even know it.” The outcry has lead to radio station bans and the creation of multiple online petitions against the rapper, including one calling for Reebok to end their use of Ross as a spokeperson. Today Ross apologized for the lyrics via Twitter with the following message:

This is of course not a formal apology, but it may be the best people get unless one of the aforementioned petitions gains a lot of traction.
Not letting the negative response to his lyrics stop his promotional efforts, Ross also used social networks to release the video for his freestyle of Kendrick Lamar’s “Don’t Kill My Vibe.” The video, which features Ross reciting his lines dressed in all white and sitting pool side, can be found below.
