Bassist Leaves Polar Bear Club

Yesterday afternoon Polar Bear Club announced that their bassist, Erik Henning (Goose), has parted ways with the band. They did not elaborate on the reasons for his departure, but they indicated that he was ready to move on and do other things. In the meantime, they have a friend of theirs by the name of Ty Smith playing bass on their current tour. You can read all of what they had to say by taking a look below the jump.

Speaking of touring, the band will be on the road for a number of different dates through the first of June. Be sure to check out their Facebook page for a full list of dates to see if they will be playing in your city.

Hi people. We wanted to throw this out there just to let everyone know that our boy and bass man Goose (Erik Henning) has left PBC. I don’t want to speak for him too much but simply put, he was ready to move on to other things in life and we’re happy for him. We truly wish him the best and if you like, you can too over @American_Goose. If you’ve seen us on our current tour you may have noticed a very tall man-boy holding what looks like a toy bass in his gargantuan arms. That’s Ty Smith. He’s an old friend of ours and he’ll be holding down the bass duties for us. Everything else is good in PBC world. This tour with Bad Religion and The Bronx has been something else and we’re sad to see it coming to a close. However, we are excited as hell to start working on all the stuff coming up for us this summer, more on that later. Thanks for reading and see you on tour! Bye.
