April 20 has become a go-to day for urban artists hoping to ride the wave of popularity in marijuana culture, and this year has proven to be no different. I chose not to post a number of tracks that have been submitted already because, to be frank, they were nothing more than an excuse to say weed over a weak beat. This track, however, is something special.

Pairing with production from The Alchemist once again, Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All member Domo Genesis has released a new song entitled “Drugs Got Me Spiritual.” Featuring a guest verse from Remy Banks, the song offers a chill beat to accompany the activities of the day, along with well-written verses and a hook that isn’t so derivative it hurts. People are quick to claim Tyler or Earl as the top talent of OFWGKTA, but I think Domo offers a different style of hip hop that is deserving of high praise in its own right (pun mildly intended). Domo Genesis is constantly in the studio, so I’m taking “Drugs Got Me Spiritual” as a sign that more new music is on the way. Look for updates as more information becomes available.
