We all knew it was coming, but you can finally salivate over the debut trailer for Marvel’s latest television outing, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. The show will follow the S.H.I.E.L.D. team taking on unusual cases that “haven’t been classified yet – the new strange and the unknown.”

The pilot, which is written and directed by Mr. Avenger himself, Joss Whedon, has no release date, but one can assume it is getting ready for a Fall release on ABC.

From the trailer, we see that the show sits directly in the huge universe Marvel has already created, and the opportunities this show has for exploration are frankly endless. We can meet new, smaller superheroes, smaller villains, and just get to know a universe that Marvel has been putting together for years. It’s hard to tell how much the bigger tentpole characters will get involved in the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. story arcs, but with visual confirmation that Agent Coulson (played by Clark Gregg) will be headlining the series, fanboys everywhere have something to be excited about.
