2012 breakout act Alabama Shakes have been relatively silent thus far in 2013. Their debut continues to shine on the indie charts, and to date only a few have successfully gotten their debut single “Hold On” out of their minds, but as far as new material is concerned there hasn’t been as much as a rumor blog in months. Now, out of almost nowhere, we have a new jam for you to enjoy.
A couple months back, Alabama Shakes were approached to contribute a new song to the fourth soundtrack for the hit HBO series True Blood. The show’s aesthetic is fitting of the group’s Southern-raised sound, so it should come as little-to-no surprise that their contribution is fitting for both the show and the group’s own catalog. You can stream the single, titled “Pocket Change,” at the end of this post.
The fourth soundtrack for True Blood hits stores May 28.
