Jonny Lang Announces First Studio Album In 7 Years

Rock and blues connoisseurs know the name Jonny Lang, but unless you’re a diehard genre fan there is a decent chance many of our young readers have no idea about this masterful young musician. You see, Lang hasn’t released an album since 2006, which makes introducing him to the internet-addicted younger generations a little difficult. In that time, however, Lang has continued to tour and play sell out gigs around the world. We knew he would one day return, and finally that day has arrived.

According to a press release posted through Facebook this morning, Jonny Lang will release a new album entitled Fight For My Soul later this year. Lang has been working on the release for three years with producer Tommy Sims, who co-wrote Eric Clapton’s Grammy winning “Change the World.” The album is scheduled to hit stores September 2 in Europe and the UK through Mascot Label Group, but no US date or label has been revealed at this time.

“With this album, I’m looking forward to going to different territories and countries all over the world, and just trying to be a positive presence for people in places where I have never been before,” Lang commented. “I’m excited to do that. It sounds like we’ll be going to some new destinations this time around, and I really look forward to it.”
