Justin Timberlake Releases “Take Back The Night” Video

With the sequel to The 20/20 Experience in just over a month, pop sensation Justin Timberlake has released his official video for “Take Back The Night.”

Creating short performance films that double as music videos has become a trendy avenue for promotion over the last year, and “Take Back The Night” is Timberlake’s first attempt at hopping on the bandwagon. The clip opens with Timberlake cruising through NYC at night in a slick classic car, then cuts between street corner performance footage and fly-over imagery of the city, including shots of a packed stadium concert crowd. As the video plays on, the clip leans more and more on the stadium performance footage, but before things come to a close the footage moves back to the streets for a final dance routine.

“Take Back The Night” is an extremely catchy track, but I am still unsure whether or not fans will latch on to it quite like “Suit & Tie.” The video leads me to think they will, as it plays up the classic, fun-loving Timberlake personality we’ve all grown to appreciate, but until he’s topping the charts the jury remains out.
