Odd Future Denied Entry To New Zealand Due To “Potential Threat To Public Order”

Back in 2011 when Tyler, The Creator made his TV debut on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon, it seemed like the music world was terrified of Odd Future. Think pieces and reviews popped up everywhere, labeling Tyler’s video for “Yonkers” as disturbing or hailing it as genius. Fast forward three years and several albums later, and people still seem to be unapologetically terrified of Tyler and company’s well-documented antics. The hip-hop collective has been denied access to New Zealand and have cancelled their appearance at Rapture Festival this weekend. Immigration New Zealand commented on the situation to 3 News:

Odd Future has been deemed to be a potential threat to public order and the public interest for several reasons, including incidents at past performances in which they have incited violence. In one instance, a police officer was hospitalised following a riot incited by Odd Future.

Tyler took to Twitter last night to give his unfiltered opinion.

Will the world ever get used to OFWGKTA? Let us know what you think in the relies.
