There was a time not all that long ago when EDM innovator Skrillex was romantically linked to chart-topping pop sensation Ellie Goulding. Their love was the talk of the dance music scene, and during their time together the pair reportedly worked on a number of songs that up to this point have (at most) only been teased during live shows. That is, until now.

Ellie Goulding recently created a mix for Annie Mac, and buried amidst nearly an hour of music was one of the ‘lost’ songs from Goulding’s time with Skrillex. The track is titled “Because,” but was originally known by the name “Lovers.” The title was changed for reasons that I should not have to explain, but the beauty of the song remains in tact. You can stream the track, as well as the mix it originally appeared on, below.

It’s always a nice surprise when new music from either of these artists finds its way online, but it can also be one of the more frustrating times to be a music fan. While it’s exciting to hear “Because” in its proper form, there is no word whether or not it will ever be released to the public. There is no download available, so for the time being the following stream is the only way to enjoy this beautiful work of art. If that changes, we’ll let you know.
