Improve Your Quality Of Life By Watching Haim’s New Music Video

I have spent the past several weeks trying to break my months-long addiction to Haim‘s fall 2013 release, Days Are Gone. I started by trying to cut it out of my listening habits altogether, but the popularity of this trio has reached such heights that those efforts proved futile in no time at all. These girls are everywhere, and whether you love them (like me) or hate them (like crazy people) there is probably no stopping their reign of awkward indie dance pop in 2014.

Today, the ladies of Haim released the fantastic video for “If I Could Change Your Mind.” The clip abandons the garage band / girls next door feel of the group’s 2013 promotional efforts and embraces the world of dance moves, silhouettes, and bright stage lights. You can view the video below.

The look of “If I Could Change Your Mind” is a fitting a departure given the style of the song at the center of the video. More importantly, I am convinced every time it’s viewed somewhere in the world a music snob who believes bands are not allowed to have fun is slapped by a larger, less-douchey music fan with an open mind and surprisingly strong hands. Watch it on repeat. Not for me, but for the betterment of pop culture as a whole.

Haim are currently working on a string of overseas tour dates, but will return stateside for a run of headlining shows in May. Tickets are on sale now in many markets, so those interested in attending are encouraged to act fast.

Also, if you do not already own one or three copies of Days Are Gone, it’s available for purchase wherever music is sold. That said, if you do not already have it, what are you even doing with your life? Get your shit together.
