Mat Kerekes, best known as the frontman for Citizen, has just released the first new track from his upcoming solo EP, simply titled Mat Kerekes. The EP will be released June 12, 2014.

Mat has been writing acoustic songs for some time now, though “Forgiveness” may be my favorite piece from him. For all the energy put into Citizen’s powerhouse debut, Youth, there is just as much output put forth in Kerekes’ solo work. Somber, invigorating, and even refreshing, “Forgiveness” is your favorite autumn drive song to be released this summer.
