After the time-hopping of events found in Days Of Future Past, one might expect the next adventure featuring the X-Men to take place in the modern world. That does not appear to be the case, however, as a new interview with producer Simon Kinberg has revealed a far more retro setting for X-Men: Apocalypse.
On a new episode of The Q&A Podcast, host Jeff Goldsmith has the wonderful opportunity to speak with producer Simon Kinberg about his involvement in the X-Men franchise. A little over one hour into their conversation the topic moves from Days Of Future Past to the upcoming Apocalypse, and it’s at this point Kinberg reveals that the next X-Men film will actually take place in 1983. For those keeping track at home, that is ten years after the events of DOFP.
X-Men: Apocalypse has been given a May 27, 2016 release date. We will bring you more information on the film, including casting and production dates, in the months ahead.
