Just when you thought it was time to climb atop your Cheshire Cat and ride off into the sunset a second time, a sign of life has emerged from the Blink-182 camp with news regarding the possibility of new music.
There have been rumors circulating in 2014 that Blink-182 were hoping to record, but there was also several reports that the band was having a hard time finding time for them to work together on creating such an effort. Today, Tom Delonge used social media to share an image of all three Blink members as teens. This would not normally be the type of post that generates a news story, but the caption made all the difference. It read, “Rehearsals start today… And yes there will be a new album #SorryForTheWait #Blink.” You can view the accompanying image at the end of this post.
Delonge and bassist Mark Hoppus spoke with MTV about the possibility of recording a new album as far back as the fall of 2013. At that point, Delonge commented that if in album were to happen it would likely come together rather quickly. “Once we start, it moves,” he told MTV. “It’s like painting, you know? You’ve just got to start with that first brushstroke, and get your clothes off, and get the other person’s clothes off, get a little bit of feces, smear it around. Just get going.”
We’ll bring you more on Blink’s new album as soon as additional information becomes available. Follow UTG on Twitter for updates.
