Whoever said parodies are dead has not spoken with Weird Al recently because the king of turning top 40 hits into side-splitting originals has once again outdone himself with his latest single.
For the better part of the last year radio stations worldwide have been obsessed with a little song by Pharrell called “Happy.” You may know it as the song your little sister won’t stop singing, or that track from Despicable Me 2 that no one cared about until it was nominated for a Grammy. Either way, we have a parody for you. Emerging from the studio just in time to promote his new album, Weird Al has released a single and video titled “Tacky” that adds Al’s signature spin on the N.E.R.D. mastermind’s biggest hit. Weird Al’s new album, Mandatory Fun, arrives in stores later this week. Expect a full review to appear on UTG soon.
