Having taken a few years off to start a family and mature as a person, former Disney starlet Hilary Duff is kickstarting her comeback this week with the release of a new single titled “Chasing The Sun.”

Scheduled for release in the US on July 29, “Chasing The Sun” reintroduces Hilary Duff to the world with beautiful and immediately infectious acoustic accompaniment. The high-gloss pop sound she once clung to has now been replaced with quiet pop sensibilities, which I believe is best for both Duff and her loyal followers. I don’t think this is necessarily the catchiest song of the season, but it’s something you love as soon as you hear it and will no doubt want to hear once more before your first spin is complete. This song leads me to believe the return of Hilary Duff to the upper echelon of pop royalty is not far off, but I am sure there are those out there who will disagree. What are your thoughts? Comment below and let us know!
