Mercy Street (Former Members of Rufio) Post Album Sampler

Back in 2012, California pop-punk veterans Rufio nonchalantly announced their break-up after years of losing key members one by one. With vocalist Scott Sellers eventually remaining as the only original member of the beloved four-piece, it was time for him to move on, as upsetting as it was for fans to accept that Rufio was finally finished. However, all was not lost, as soon after Sellers released an excellent, Rufio-esque EP with a new band called Mercy Street which also features former Rufio bassist Taylor Albaugh. A little over a year ago, Sellers explained, “Mercy Street is NOT a side project (for people that are asking me about it.) Rufio isn’t playing anymore so this is the main focus for me at the moment.”

Mercy Street have yet to break through into the spotlight they deserve within the current pop-punk scene, but as they’re finally prepared to release their debut full-length, titled Let Me Live, that well-deserved accomplishment can’t be too far off.

“So it’s been about a year, but, our full-length ‘Let Me Live’ is finished!” the band recently shared on Facebook. The sampler they’ve provided features snippets of each track on the album, and even as we’re yet to find out when it’s to be released, I think it’s safe to say that in a post-Rufio world, this album from Mercy Street should more than fill that long-lingering void. The sampler showcases jam after jam of fast-paced, shredtastic pop-punk that will take you right back to the mid 2000s.

Check it out after the jump and comment afterwards to let us know if you’re looking forward to what Mercy Street have in store.
