The Knife Will Soon Be No More

Highly acclaimed and auterist electronic duo The Knife is coming to the end.

Karin Dreijer, one half of the dynamic Swedish duo, dropped the big news in an interview with Dazed and Confused:

“When we finish the tour now in November we will close down, it’s our last tour. We don’t have any obligations to continue, it should only and always be for fun.”

Stereogum has confirmed the breakup with the band’s reps. Once The Knife finishes up their final European tour dates in November, the dissolution will be complete. A brief farewell was posted on The Knife’s website (which is delightfully dated for such an experimental group), quoting the titular line from “Without You My Life Would Be Boring.”

The band’s last releases were the monolith 2013 double album Shaking The Habitual (one of Nina Corcoran’s top ten albums of the year) and this year’s Shaken Up Versions. See their final tour dates below. Sadly for any stateside fans, it looks like a North American farewell isn’t in the cards.
