Surprise! Chance The Rapper Releases New Track “No Better Blues”

Remember when Chance The Rapper covered the Arthur theme song? It was all fun and games back then. So, it’s obvious why this new track from Chance comes as a bit of a surprise, both because no one was expecting it to be released and no one was expecting it to sound so jaded.

The track, titled “No Better Blues,” features Chance’s band The Social Experiment. It sees Chance waning the dark but not too dark too often vibes that were present throughout his 2013 release, Acid Rap, for a completely bleak, hopeless and unforgiving number, showcasing his absolute disdain for essentially everything. Just to give you an idea, a line in this song goes, “I hate to cruise, I hate to fly, I hate to swim / I hate the optimistic smirks on the face of children,” and almost every line before and after follows the “I hate…” format in what is essentially Chance’s spoken word over a beat. It’s pretty dark. Listen below. Let us know what you think in the comments.
