As you probably know by now, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. While it seems most women beat this cancer nowadays, it’s easy to forget that there are still many women who succumb to it.

For one band in particular, this fact is painfully real. The guitarist/vocalist for Good Morning, Gorgeous, John Michael Perez, lost his mother to breast cancer at the end of August. In the wake of her passing he wrote a song for her which includes an audio clip of their very last conversation. If you’re ready for some tears, you can listen to it below the break.

The song is currently available on Bandcamp with the “name your price” option. All of the money from the first week of sales will be donated to breast cancer research.
